During the summer of 2016 the Neon Museum had a chance to go to the Federal Heath sign company’s Las Vegas facility to examine their blueprint archives. During this time, we were introduced to a series of boxes that contained the photos of their job sites all over Nevada and the US from around the early 1980s up to the 2000s.
During the scanning process we discovered a lot of interesting things about many of the signs in our collection.
In the Neon Museum collection there are two Sam Boyd’s signs; one is currently in storage, the other is in our North Gallery. After going through the extensive collection we found pictures of the Sam Boyd’s Fremont sign in the shop after it was made and installed on the building.
